Анотація:
As electronics and embedded systems in the wireless sensor networks continue to evolve, wireless networks that can monitor and control these are becoming more prevalent.
Wireless sensor Networks are becoming an increasingly emerging technology taking a centre stage in exciting research areas which has attracted many research attentions in communication systems, the need for efficient fault-tolerant techniques to enhance network security and privacy has gained significant prominence. Fault tolerance in wireless sensor networks provides an effective method to improve link quality of nodes allowing better spatial reuse of the wireless channel and control over network resources the transmit power thereby maintaining network connectivity.
The IEEE 802.15.4/Zigbee protocol stack has been considered as a promising technology for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Fault-tolerance is one of the main issues in WSNs since it becomes critical in real deployment environments where reliability and reduced inaccessibility times are important. However, the Zigbee protocol is currently lacking efficient fault - tolerance mechanisms for supporting reliability for real-time applications. This project decomposed common problems associated to ZigBee cluster-tree networks and proposes fault-tolerance mechanisms for those topologies.
